I began homeschooling my daughter in the 3rd grade. She was not reading and I felt she needed more attention than she was receiving in public school.Well, needless to say it has been a struggle and there were times when I felt that I had made a very bad decision. I spent a year trying different teaching methods and nothing seemed to help. This was a very scary feeling. I realized we both needed help, I decided we needed a tutor.
I cannot tell you how happy I am that we found Sue Morgan. Sue is a such a kind teacher. And, the classroom she has set up in her home, is inviting & filled with everything she needs to teach your child. I even love to linger there.
Needless to say, having Sue tutor my child has been a very positive experience. My daughter is now reading & she looks forward to her classes with Mrs. Morgan. They have a real bond of trust. Sue has also been helpful to me, in my new teaching position. She has given me a great deal of guidance and has relieved me of many of my worries. Thank you Sue, so much for all you have done. We appreciate your kindness and dedication. You‘ve given hope and confidence. What a wonderful gift! A. Sullivan

I knew I had found the perfect tutor for my son the first time I spoke to Sue on the phone. First, she listened. Really listened. Then, after I described my son's struggles, Sue gave voice to what I suspected was the cause. I wanted to hug her through the phone.
Since then, Sue has been a beacon of light in our quest to strengthen my son's academic skills and, in turn, bolster his confidence so he will feel as capable as we know he can be.
And when I say "we," I don't simply mean my husband and I. Sue has made it clear in words and deeds that her focus is to help, not dictate.
My son knows it too and has blossomed under her caring, but firm teaching. I have recommended Sue more times than I can count and will continue to do so with great enthusiasm.

The door was opened by a professional looking woman, wearing a warm, genuine smile. I was welcomed into an orderly room with a cheerful yet soothing palette. Settling into a cozy upholstered chair with a needlepoint pillow at my back, I let my eyes drift about the room while our son is finishing a math exercise at the chalkboard. (Inwardly, I smile, knowing how helpful it is for my child to have some time to be standing, after a day spent seated at a desk, and that after putting pencil to paper at school, he enjoys the feel of the chalk.) Charming antique postcards atop the fireplace mantle give me a nostalgic reminder of the upcoming holiday. Books organized under the window spaces reflect the many diverse topics that various students will be needing and I resist the urge to go sit on the carpeting and pull out an interesting title. A bulletin board holds notice of an upcoming museum exhibition, famous artist prints alongside the printed information, connecting the children to their local community.
To my side I spot the doll clad in the traditional fucshia dress of Korean women that Evan gave his tutor. We know that the dolls are Mrs. Morgan's charming way of introducing the ethnic customs of various world cultures. The dolls will stimulate the interest and give a visual to the material that can be gleaned from one of the many sets of encyclopedias, standing ready for referencing. I must draw my eyes away, as Evan has finished his work and Mrs. Morgan is ready to share some insights with me while my son practices for his upcoming social studies test with a state and capital puzzle. As he packs up his work, Mrs. Morgan shares information with me about an upcoming parent lecture being offered.
This is a typical afternoon session with Mrs. Morgan and why she has been an important part of our son's education these past 4 years. Susan

I highly recommend the tutoring services of Sue Morgan. She tutored both of my daughters, preparing my eldest daughter to reenter public school from homeschooling and working with my younger daughter for 2 ½ years. Mrs. Morgan’s thorough methods taught my younger daughter organization skills, the art of neat handwriting, increased her abilities in phonics, and gave her a love for history. Mrs. Morgan gave my daughter such a solid foundation in elementary/middle school that after 8 years of homeschooling, she is now succeeding in her public high school. She has been recommended for AP History in 10th grade and she recently received an award for high GPA. I definitely credit Mrs. Morgan for giving my daughter such a solid foundation and for instilling the love of history! We will be forever grateful! Denise

My daughter has been tutored by Mrs. Morgan twice per week for the past five months. I immediately saw a drastic improvement in her grades and an increase in her confidence. I recommend Mrs. Morgan to any parent who is looking for a tutor that gets results.Melissa

My son Joshua has been receiving tutoring services for less than one year with Sue Morgan. Joshua needed additional assistance in reading comprehension, as he was below the benchmark for his grade level. Mrs. Morgan has helped Joshua to build his confidence and skill level. She understands Joshua’s needs and teaches techniques that he is unable to receive during the regular school day. I have seen a significant improvement in his reading and comprehension abilities when completing tasks at home. We will continue to seek Mrs. Morgan’s assistance in reading as well as math. I was so proud of my son to see that he received a B on his report card in Reading. Thank you Mrs. Morgan for your time, patience and most of all desire to see that Joshua succeeds. Lavinia

Thank you Ms. Morgan! You have helped our son and grandson with his reading, writing, math, and history. Since Logan began his tutoring sessions, we have seen a major improvement with his grades, his attitude toward school, but most of all his "new" self confidence. We are so happy with his progress that he has made as a result of visiting and learning with you! Jackie and Laura

We feel like we hit the jackpot when we found Sue Morgan! Jack, our grandson, was struggling with reading and comprehension; after getting referrals we decided to meet with Sue and Jack's comment after our initial meeting was "when do I get to go back?" Sue has taught him how to decipher words and what they mean. He has jumped from a primary level to second grade level in just a few months. He actually wants to read now-- it just doesn't get any better than that! Thanks to Sue for all her hard work. Sally

Since beginning tutoring with Ms. Morgan we have seen a significant improvement is our son’s self confidence with his reading and writing. He looks forward to his tutoring session each week. Ms. Morgan is effective at focusing his attention and motivating him. As a consequence of her classes he looks at writing and reading in a more positive way. Her creative ideas have helped us to change the way we work with him at home and we have seen an improvement in his homework. We are happy with the progress that our son has made as a result of this class. Paula

Sue Morgan is a God-send to my son and family. She helped my 12-year-old son with a central auditory processing disorder progress two grades after he had been in an IEP in the public school system. She has a gift for designing or altering a curriculum to the specific needs of the child so that it is challenging enough to help him grow without undue frustration. I am grateful to her for her infinite patience and guidance in my son's development as a student and emerging young man. Lana

I am Thomas Heilmann and on an International Assignment from my company
Honeywell Intl. Inc. for two years in the USA.
My wife Brigitte is with me and we are from Germany.
While we began this assignment in September 2006 we had the offer to
take English lessons in the USA.
Mrs. Sue Morgan was our teacher for the whole class over about six months. She taught us all the basic English using the yearly calendar
events to bring up subjects.
We also talked a lot about day-to-day life with incorporating newspapers, movies, books, billings, taxing, etc. Our skills in reading, vocabulary, grammar, writing, and speaking
improved significantly. She herself and her tutoring
was really a help while learning English and for our day-to-day life
here in the USA.
We deeply recommend her to others in a similar situation. Also, we appreciate all what she did for us.
Thank you very, very much Sue. Brigitte and
Thomas

Since my son has been tutored by Mrs. Sue Morgan, my husband and I have seen a marked improvement not only in academics but also in his self esteem. He really was struggling before before starting to work with her. Her use of the Orton-Gillingham method is very effective. Mrs. Morgan gears her lessons to his interests in a way that is both educational and engaging. We cannot say enough about this wonderful teacher. the Bishops

Mrs. Morgan is a wonderful teacher and tutor. She has been working with my niece Rachel for the last three years and the results are evident each and every day as Rachel develops the necessary skills and strategies to become an independent reader. Rachel is also gaining confidence, which is so critical for a student with learning disabilities. As a former teacher, I appreciate the time and effort Mrs. Morgan puts into creating weekly lessons for Rachel. Mrs. Morgan’s can do attitude and love of learning is contagious. She creates a learning environment that is welcoming and fun, yet conveys the seriousness of the tasks at hand. I can think of no one better than Mrs. Morgan to entrust the important job of teaching a child. Peggy

It was truly a blessing when Mrs. Morgan came to help Kennedy. Our daughter was very sick and unable to attend Kindergarten. Mrs. Morgan came to tutor her two days a week. Kennedy was very shy and didn't want any help but Mrs. Morgan slowly worked with her and it took lots of patience but she did it. Soon Kennedy was reading and writing and when she was able to go to school. Mrs. Morgan continued to tutor her and it has made all the difference in the world. With her help, love, and attention Kennedy has truly blossomed and we are looking forward to her continued help this summer. Thank you for everything. Linda

My son is a 2nd grader at Collegiate School and was struggling with reading. He has been working with Sue Morgan. His classroom teacher and the reading specialist are very pleased with his progress. Mrs. Morgan is a professional and has a lovely classroom with a children's library in her home. My son is quite fond of Mrs. Morgan and has never once complained about having to go for tutoring after school. Sue Morgan is a great teacher and a special person.
